My name is Spenser Shumaker, and I’ve been proud to call Rolesville home for over nine years.  I’m a husband, a dad to a busy 2 1⁄2-year-old, a homeowner, a partner in a small business, and someone who genuinely cares about the future of our vibrant town.

I’ve spent more than 15 years as a leader in the software engineering industry, leading teams, managing projects, and finding solutions to complex challenges. That experience has taught me the importance of accountability, collaboration, and long-term planning - values I would like to put to work for you as a Town Commissioner in Rolesville.

I am also a co-owner of Rolesville Physical Therapy, a small business that helps our neighbors recover from medical difficulties, stay active, and live healthier lives. Through my involvement in the clinic, I’ve developed a real commitment for helping others.  I am especially passionate about the needs of our older residents, who deserve to feel supported, connected, and valued right here at home.

Like many of you, I love Rolesville for its small-town charm and strong sense of community.  But as our town continues to grow, I believe it’s more important than ever to plan thoughtfully and wisely. I share the frustration many of you have with recent development, particularly the construction at Main and Young Street, that caused major delays and lacked needed accountability and communication.   I continue to have serious concerns about traffic and congestion on Main Street - which can only grow worse with additional apartment construction.  Growth is good, when it’s smart, sustainable and respectful growth. Growth not balanced with proper infrastructure, however, will create increased traffic on an already congested road and likely become a public safety hazard. We need leaders with a vision that protects the safety of our people, while maintaining the unique character that makes Rolesville such a wonderful place to live.

I am running as a Write In Candidate for Rolesville Town Commissioner because I want to see our community thrive, not just grow. I believe in thoughtful planning, open communication, and leadership that truly listens to the people who call this town home.

Together, we can keep Rolesville the welcoming, family-centered, and forward-thinking community we all love. On November 4th, simply write in Spenser Shumaker’s name on your ballot and vote for a better tomorrow for Rolesville.

Remember to write in “Spenser Shumaker” and fill in the oval on the left!
